Friends of the Library & Book Shoppe
For more than 40 years, the mission of the Friends of the San Marino Public Library has been to raise money that the library can use to supplement the allocation from the City, allowing it to keep its collections up-to-date and provide special services it would otherwise be unable to afford.
The Friends also support staff development by funding staff attendance at library conferences, consultants, and workshops. The Friends' Board of Directors meets monthly, conducts an annual membership drive, runs a used Book Shoppe in the Library auditorium, and holds periodic book sales and rare book auctions to boost the amount of money we can give to the library. Books to be sold are culled from the collection and donated throughout the year by local residents. Memberships
